About Us

Welcome to the United Church of Broomfield!

We are an Open and Affirming (ONA) member of the United Church of Christ, and we have been serving the Broomfield community through the love of Christ for over 60 years.  We are a congregation open to and affirming of all ages, races, church backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, sexual orientation, and gender identity. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

From its beginnings, The United Church of Broomfield has had a strong connection to the surrounding community. Our members have been key participants in the beginnings of several organizations and events in Broomfield such as FISH and Senior Resources.  We were founded by families for families, and continue to support local families, both in worship and also with our preschool and after school child care programs.  We support a variety of programs which benefit the community including sponsoring Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops, providing meeting space for AA groups, collecting supplies for local schools and child-focused organizations, and supporting the local food bank and emergency housing programs.

While you will find all kinds of information within this site, we recognize that many questions about our church and our faith community may remain unanswered.  Please feel free to contact us at 303-466-8355, send us an email to ucboffice@gmail.com, or visit us during Sunday morning service to have coffee and say hello. We are always happy to share our personal experiences of what the United Church of Broomfield means to us and we’d love to learn more about you and how this church can be a place of spiritual enrichment for you and your family.

Our Mission Statement

Our Church is dedicated to the love of God as demonstrated by Jesus Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit. We demonstrate our love of God through everyday living. Everyone is welcome to join us as we grow in our faith and in our relationship with God and each other through worship, teaching, caring, and fellowship.

Open & Affirming (ONA) Statement

The following statement was warmly received and approved by the congregation at the annual meeting on January 25th, 2004.

We celebrate the image of God in every person. We rejoice in the sacredness of life, and we affirm all relationships of support that are founded on the principles of love and justice. As Christians, we are many members, but we are one body in Christ (Rom 12:4).

We accept Jesus’ call to love our neighbors as we love ourselves without being judgmental (Matt 7:1-2) nor disparaging of others (Luke 18:9-14).

We, the United Church of Broomfield, publicly proclaim ourselves as an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ.

We pledge ourselves to creating a safe and loving community of faith in which ALL persons, regardless of creed, color, religion, gender, age, mental or physical health, disability, national origin, family configuration, sexual orientation, cultural background or economic status can feel respected and cherished as part of Christ and the spirit of one Creator.

We affirm ALL persons in our congregation as full participants and share significant celebrations and milestone events. As Christians, we affirm the dignity and worth of all people and we will advocate the rights of every human being. We join and accept the call for local churches to be inclusive and supportive of ALL persons.

May God bless and empower us in our journey toward faithfulness. We ask for God’s blessing and guidance as we commit to loving accepting our diversity with respect, compassion, and understanding.
