Lead Pastor Rev. Michael Blackwood was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He has an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Santa Monica College, a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Regis University, a master’s degree in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University, and a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology. Michael worked in the business world for 20 years before answering the call to ministry. Michael first began working in ministry as a hospital and hospice chaplain before enter parish ministry.
Michael’s theological and spiritual interests include the exploration of religious pluralism, interfaith dialogue, youth and children’s ministries and advancing social justice following “the way” of Jesus. Michael and his husband, Adam have been married since 2002 and have two fur-babies, Ginger and Duffy. In his spare time, Michael enjoys theater, music, and traveling the world with Adam.
Associate Pastor Rev. Andi Fox is excited to be back at UCB after a couple of years away. Pastor Andi did her undergraduate work in history at Drury University and earned both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is currently working on her Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformational Leadership through Boston University. She has worked as a college chaplain, young adult ministry specialist, Director of Christian Education, and adjunct professor teaching world religions. In her free time Pastor Andi loves watching Star Trek, embroidery, video games, and crafting unique greeting cards.
Director of Music Keri Jacobs started in December 2022. Keri began singing at the age of 10, participating in choirs throughout elementary, middle and high school. Keri was a member of the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Concert Choir from 1997-2001 and sang with a local choir, the Colorado Repertory Singers from 2008-2016. Keri also dabbles in playing other instruments, such as the piano, trumpet and bells, with voice being her primary instrument.
Keri has been active in UCB’s music ministry since 2005, as a member of the choir, worship song-leader, and as member & leader of the church’s praise band, Undying Flame. When the church’s previous music director left, Keri graciously stepped in to help lead the music ministry and we’re THRILLED to have her talents and leadership in this role permanently
Accompanist Adam Brinckerhoff lives in Broomfield with his wife Pam, son Josiah, and daughter Holly. During the week, he’s a stay-at-home-dad, taking his kids to the Paul Derda Recreation Center and playgrounds in the North Denver area. When he gets a break from parenting, he enjoys reading and playing board games. Adam was raised in Illinois, went to college in Michigan, attended graduate school in Georgia, and lived for a few years in Maryland. Adam and Pam moved to Broomfield in 2012, and have been here ever since. Adam has worked in several fields, including aerospace engineering, international development, foster care, and social work. Adam has played piano for most of his life, and has enjoyed learning to play a few different genres. His prized possession is his Yamaha upright piano. Adam is grateful to get the opportunity to contribute his musical skills to the United Church of Broomfield
